Penalty orders now also against Daimler employees

The Stuttgart public prosecutor's office is investigating three Daimler employees. Penalty orders have been requested from the Böblingen district court. The employees are accused of being culpably involved in the diesel emissions scandal. Specifically, the employees are to be held responsible for the impermissible shutdown device in the engine control software installed in diesel vehicles of the Euro 6 emissions class.

Daimler AG confirms penal orders

Although Daimler AG has confirmed the penal orders against the three employees, the company does not share the same opinion as the public prosecutor's office. The latter has not made any statement on the type and amount of the punishment. It is assumed that a fine or a suspended prison sentence of up to one year could be imposed.
