Volkswagen Eos has to go to the workshop again<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Federal Motor Transport Authority has ordered another so-called \u201cmonitored recall\u201d for around 5,800 Eos drivers under the code \u201c23AO\u201d. The KBA publication shows that the vehicles built between 2010 and 2015 are again being recalled due to the "Removal of an inadmissible defeat device or increased emission values even after implementation of Action 23R7"<\/strong> be recalled and undergo a software update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KBA Code of Conduct 3 Types of Recalls<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There is the \u201cvoluntary recall\u201d, the \u201csupervised recall\u201d and the \u201cordered recall\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A monitored recall, the middle recall level, occurs when the responsible economic operator (i.e. the manufacturer) has information that a product poses a serious risk and informs the KBA in accordance with its reporting obligation. If the internal assessment of the facts shows that this risk exists, the KBA checks whether the measures proposed by the manufacturer to eliminate the risk are sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KBA expects \u201ca maximum fulfillment rate<\/strong>\u201c, which in the case of vehicles subject to registration can lead to a ban on operation if the vehicle owner does not comply with the request to remedy the defect within the specified period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In plain language, this means that the respective owner cannot avoid this recall. This is because the malfunction in the VW Eos is such a serious fault in the vehicle that this recall must be monitored by the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost the entire Volkswagen model range affected by recalls<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The original recall with the code \u201c23R7\u201d affected not only VW Eos, but also 1.6 million other Volkswagen models equipped with the EA 189 engine<\/strong> recalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volkswagen AG continues to emphasize that the software update means the vehicles are clean and comply with the limits of the Euro 5 emissions class. The new recall monitored by the KBA shows more than clearly that this can be doubted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains to be seen whether other models will also need to undergo follow-up treatment.
Finally, under the codes \u201c23R7\u201d, \u201c23Q7\u201d, \u201c23S1\u201d and \u201c23R6\u201d almost the entire Volkswagen<\/a> product range <\/strong>built between 2008 and 2015, a total of just under 2.6 million vehicles<\/strong>, recalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expert reports have shown that the update did not have the desired effect and Volkswagen could only resort to another shutdown device - the so-called thermal window. The probability that owners of other models from the Volkswagen Group will also have to have their vehicles subjected to another software update remains very high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
